April
2007, Volume 10, Issue 4
General
Meeting - April 4, 2007
The meeting was called to order at 7:02 PM by Keith
Thorson, President.
Our Guest, Mario Gomez, a young man from Bella Vista
High School was introduced. Mario visited our Club in
order to promote his Senior Project: Mario's Classic/Modern
Car Show, to be held Sunday, May 6, 2007 at Bella Vista
High School Parking Lot. He expressed his interest in
Car Clubs and "muscle cars" in general. His confidence
and enthusiasm were well received and encouraged by
the Club members present. Proceeds from the show will
benefit the Sacramento Shriner's Hospital and the Bella
Vista Booster Club. (See Upcoming Events).
The Secretary's Minutes were approved as printed in
the March Transcript.
The Treasurer's Report
for March was presented by Treas. J. O. Raff and approved.
Old
Business: Past Events;
Club Jackets came up again (and again). This time, J.O.
provided the actual jackets, bought and paid for, in
all available sizes for the members to try on. However,
he explained that Gary Vollstedt had been in contact
with a company called "Instant Impact" in Loomis. It
is hoped that Instant Impact will be able to embroider
the jackets for the same price that Special T's quoted
for screen print. This provision was acceptable to members
present. Jim Prinzivalli, our Web Master has been in
contact with Robin at Instant Impact concerning digitizing
of our Club Logo but this phase is still being reviewed.
Terry Trimble noticed that our jackets have zipper access
between the outer cover and inner lining to permit embroidery.
It is now hoped that we will have our jackets in time
for the May General Membership meeting (but don't hold
your breath).
Frank Brown moved that the Meeting be adjourned, however,
Keith recommended that we continue with business at
hand.
New
Business: Upcoming Events;
J.O. distributed an updated Membership Roster with the
listings of delinquent members highlighted in red.
Car Show Discussion: (See Upcoming Events) The Central
Valley Classic Car Show, open to all Pontiac-Oldsmobile-Buick-Cadillac
& GMC Trucks, will be held Saturday, April 28th in Madera.
The Roseville Car & Motorcycle Show will be held at
Placer County Fair Grounds, Sunday, April 29th.
Mario's Classic / Modern Car Show will be held Sunday,
May 6th at Bella Vista High School Parking Lot.
Ted Bechtel announced that he had posted a parade on
May 19th with a car show to follow, in Maxwell, between
Williams and Willows. Please check the Message Board.
Thunder in Depot Park Car Show will be held in Downtown
Rio Linda, Saturday, May 26th.
Shriners Hospitals Concours d'Elegance will be held
at Mather Field with events including a SCCA Autocross
on June 2nd and 3rd, plus Wine Tasting at the Towe Museum
on May 23. Car Clubs are restricted to a minimum of
10 cars but this event is reminiscent of our old Transaramas!
Keith recommended that anyone interested in attending
car shows, check with either him or Ted Bechtel first.
Frank moved that the meeting be adjourned-again.
J.O. passed out Blue Ribbons and Chili's Gift Cards
to Keith Thorson for Mildest Chili and to Terry Trimble
for Best Red and Peoples Choice. Robert Holland and
Fay Fong were not present to accept their award.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:07 PM after the motion
by Frank Brown (again) and second by Dennis Trimble.
Respectfully Submitted; Irene Raff, Secretary.
