Meeting - August 2, 2005
The meeting was called to order at 7:14 PM by President
Keith Thorson.
Secretary's
Minutes:
for the month of July were approved as printed in the
TransScript.
Treasurer's
Report:
for the month of July was given by Treasurer J.O. Raff
and was approved as read.
Old
Business:
Activities Chairman Leo Brown was absent from the meeting
and Keith filled in with the information he had.
There was a fair showing at the Jimboy's Car Show on
July 9th with 5 or 6 cars attending.
The River Cat's Baseball game with Colorado on July
16th was attended by the Browns, the Trimbles, Pat Brown
and three children. Because the game went into overtime,
they left during the 12th inning. The River Cats won.
Several members that committed to go have not paid for
their tickets.
Information on attendance for the Gilroy Garlic Festival
on July 30th was not available.
Club Jackets are still pending. To date, money has been
received for only 5 jackets.
New
Business:
Keith informed us that dues for the Towe Museum are
due. He stated that he would pay for our membership
and collect $5.00 each from the members at a later date.
Upcoming
Events:
Roaring Camp Gold Panning / Dinner is scheduled for
Saturday, August 13th. He will check with Gayle Vollstedt
for information. She coordinated our last event at Roaring
Camp.
The Napa Valley Wine Run is scheduled for Saturday,
August 27th. Keith will contact J.O. concerning his
recommendations for places to go. We hope Leo will be
recovered from his surgery by then to lead us.
The Hangtown Car Show is scheduled for Saturday, September
3rd.
There will be additional discussion of September events
at the September general meeting.
Beverly's Crafts is sponsoring a Nifty 50's event on
Saturday, October 1st. It will include GTOs, Mustangs,
many vintage & other beautiful Cars (Firebirds?) We
have attended in the past and won a lot of prizes. Bring
an unwrapped toy for Bev's Project Angel and receive
a drawing ticket!
Frank Brown reported that Leo was recovering from surgery
for colon cancer but wouldn't have the lab report for
about 10 days. He is at UC Davis Hospital.
Frank Brown moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:48 PM.

P.S. Aug. 8, 2005 Leo is healing rapidly after
his surgery, however, he will be receiving chemotherapy
