General Meeting - August 1, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Vice-President Ted Bechtel in the absence of President Keith Thorson.

The Minutes from the July meeting were approved as printed in the Trans Script.

J.O. gave the Treasurer’s Report and it was accepted as read.

Old Business: Past Events;

The “Afternoon at Woody’s” Restaurant event on July 15th was well represented by the Club. The food and fellowship were both good. There were even seven (7) Trans Ams there, not including other means of transport.

New Business:

A 50/50 raffle will be held at all future meetings (except this one).

Our Bowling Event will be on August 18th at Crestview Bowling Center with one free game coupon per person.

Thunder Valley Brunch will be on September 9th.

Apple Hill with High Hill Ranch as first stop, is scheduled for October 14t.

Spaghetti Sauce Cook-off at the Raff’s on November 11th and the Christmas Annual Meeting and Christmas Party will be December 8th. (See Upcoming Events for more information).

Drag Night, tentatively planned for November 7th, which is a meeting night, has been postponed until spring.

There was discussion whether or not for the Club to continue the tradition of contributing $10.00 per paid Club Member toward the cost of the Christmas Dinner and it was decided to continue the tradition although the Club’s funds are the lowest ever.

A raffle was discussed in which 100% of the money collected would be awarded to the winning ticket but it was decided that a 100% raffle would constitute gambling and would be illegal. We will still have the 50/50 raffle. It was decided that the Club would contribute a drawing “Door Prize” of dinner for two.

Bring exchange gifts valued at $15.00 to $20.00 for our “Steal” game (if you want to play). Our location, the Buca di Beppo, Italian Restaurant, serves authentic Italian family style dishes and the prices range from $21.95 to $34.95 per person, plus tax and 20% gratuity and consist of five or six selections. (Insalate, Antipasti, Entrees, Pasta, Side Dishes, Desserts). A lovely, semi-private dining room that will accommodate 50 people and a “present” table has been reserved for 7:00 PM, December 8th. We will decide on which menu to order and hopefully, an attendance count, at the November meeting. Buca di Beppo is located at 1249 Howe Ave., Sacramento, (at the corner of Howe and Hurley) and has a large parking lot in the rear.

Club Meetings will be held at Denny's Restaurant, 3520 Auburn Blvd, Sacramento, CA at 7:00 PM on the first Wednesday of each month. Anyone with an interest in the Pontiac Firebird, Trans Am, Formula or Firehawk is welcome to attend.
