2009, Volume 12, Issue 8
General
Meeting - August 5, 2009
The meeting was called to order at 7:14 PM by Pres.
Keith Thorson.
In addition to Keith, members present were Ted Bechtel,
Frank Brown, Jim Nakata, J.O. and Irene Raff. We were
very excited to welcome a Sacramento visitor, Bob Szabo.
Bob owns a pristine, White, 2001 Trans Am. He is a Racing
Tech Manual author and has a very interesting web site:
http://www.racecarbook.com. He has authored “Fuel
Injection Racing Secrets”, “Jetting for
Racing—Mechanical Fuel Injection for small block
engines” and “5,000 Horsepower on Methanol”.
Dennis and Terry were absent due to “Hot August
Nights”. Robert and Fay Holland were also missed.
The July Minutes were approved as printed in the Trans
Script. It was noted however, that the Treas. showed
June “Cash on Hand General Fund” to be 5/1/09.
The typo has been corrected.
Old
Business: Past Events;
Our visit to Scandia Family Fun Center for Miniature
Golf was discussed. Frank Brown had a hole in one and
Robert Holland brought his own putter. In spite of these
“experts”, there were no scores worth bragging
about. There were eight adults and five young people
present. There was no other old business discussed.
New
Business: Upcoming Events;
Hot Chili and Cool Cars, Saturday, September 19th; BAHCC
Hayward Swap Meet, open to all makes and models, at
Cal State University, Hayward, Sunday, August 30th;
and a Romin Angels, 1972 and older show, Sept. 11-13
in Grass Valley, were all discussed. For the Hot Chili
and Cool Cars show in Rocklin, a caravan was set up
to meet at California Burgers, 10 A.M., Sept. 19th.
The show is for 1973 and older vehicles only but we
thought the Chili might be good. There will be more
discussion during our September meeting.
Speaking of the September meeting,
it will be held in a new location.
We will meet at Coco’s Restaurant and Bakery,
1830 Arden Way, Sacramento, at the usual 7:00 PM. Keith
will notify Denny’s that we won’t be back.
We also discussed the possibility of a Chili Cook-off
at the Riff-Raff’s in October. We will also have
a “Pizza” night at “Pasquale’s
Italian Pizzeria, Thursday, August 20th. (See Upcoming
Events.)
Frank Brown moved and Ted Bechtel seconded that the
meeting be adjourned at 8:05 PM.
Respectfully Submitted: Irene Raff, Secretary.
