December
2003, Volume 6, Issue 11
At 7:00 PM, December
12th, Club Members gathered at the Rusty Duck Restaurant
in Sacramento for our Annual Christmas Party and General
Membership / Installation Meeting.
After gathering around a "U" shaped table,
very tightly set for 29 people, our revelers dined on
Prime Rib, Herb Chicken or Grilled Salmon and added
calories by enjoying a dessert of "Mud Pie"
(I think).
Once dinner was complete, Lame-Duck President TED BECHTEL
called the meeting to order for the purpose of the last
business meeting of the year. Reading of the Minutes
and Treasurer's Report were dispensed with much to the
pleasure of those present.
DAVE GERSHON was invited forward to present the "Top
Gun Award". This award consists of a rotating "Top
Gun" Cap that is beginning to show that it has
been on the track more than once. This year's winner
was RICK NEWMAN, whose efforts clocked in at 108 MPH.
Once again taking the floor, Pres. TED BECHTEL awarded
DENNIS and TERRY TRIMBLE a plaque for their service
as Major Events Directors. He also presented a plaque
to JAIME PEREZ and CARMEN LUCI for their work on the
Activities Committee. J.O. RAFF was presented the President's
Award for exceptional service to the Club for 2003.
Finally, the President's Gavel was passed on to President
Elect KEITH THORSON.
KEITH took the floor just long enough and with just
enough words to recognize the Elected Officers for 2004.
They are:
LEO BROWN, Vice President
IRENE RAFF, Secretary
J.O. RAFF, Treasurer
TERRY TRIMBLE, Activities
Director.
His Appointed Officers for 2004 are:
DENNIS TRIMBLE, Major Events Director
JAIME PEREZ and CARMEN LUCI, Activities Committee
J.J. APILADO, Historian
TED BECHTEL, Membership Chairman
JAIME PEREZ, Sergeant-at- Arms
TED KLEIN, Members-At-Large
DAVE GERSHON. Members-At-Large
IRENE and J.O. RAFF remain TransScript Editors
JIM PRINZIVALLI remains Web Site Director
DAVE GERSHON remains ACCC Delegate.
Having completed Business for the Year, Pres. TED BECHTEL
thanked everyone for their participation and support
during his Presidency and turned the meeting over to
Activities Chairman LEO BROWN to supervise our "Present
Exchange".
Once the "Present Exchange" and the ensuing
"Steals" were complete, almost no one, including
Paul Gershon, left the party around 10 PM with anything
that they had really wanted. Ah, But such is life !!!
Respectfully submitted, (Assisted by Ghost Writer, J.O.
Raff) Irene Raff, Secretary.
