General Meeting - February 7, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 7:11 PM by Keith Thorson, President.

The Secretary's Minutes were approved as printed in the January TransScript and the Treasurer's Report was given by J.O. Raff.

Old Business: Past Events;

The Superbowl Party held on February 4th at Steve's Pizza was discussed. Due to some complication, the Club was not scheduled as planned and another group had the large meeting room with the large TV. J.O. and Irene Raff and Dennis Trimble arrived at about 1:00 PM. The other group began arriving around 2:00 PM and it was learned that they were scheduled for the room so J.O., Irene and Dennis took off. Later, Terry Trimble, Frank Brown, John Bonner, Rachel Gershanoff and Keith Thorson arrived. They stayed for the game in the front area of Steve's with the smaller TV set. Steve's pizza was excellent incidentally.

Club jackets were brought up again, orders for 11 jackets have been taken and J.O. will go to "Special T's" and start the process. The jacket will be the black "Port Authority" "Competitor" model. The Club logo as shown on the TransScript will be screen printed on the back and embroidered on the front left breast. The cost was $55.00 each last year and it is understood that the prices have not changed.

Autorama will be February 9 through 11 but only Bob Olsen will be showing his car. Last year, Ted Klein's business had tickets but it is not known if tickets are available this year. Look around for discounts.

The Valentine's Day Brunch will go as scheduled in the Upcoming Events but there will be no caravan.

The Chili Cook-off will go as planned.

New Business: Upcoming Events;

It was recommended that a "Get-Well" card be sent to J.J. Apilado who is recovering from surgery.

Keith announced that space is available at the Denny's Restaurant at Watt Avenue and Auburn Blvd. for our future meetings. They have a private, glassed-in area and our March meeting will be there (See Upcoming Events).

Keith asked the members to come up with ideas for a "Charity Event" such as those done by other Clubs. Our charity is the Children's Receiving Home.

Keith asked who would be able to display their cars at the Towe Museum for a full month. At least 6 cars are available so Keith will contact the Towe for a date.

It was moved by Frank Brown and seconded by Dennis Trimble that the meeting be adjourned.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 PM.

Club Meetings will be held at Denny's Restaurant, 3520 Auburn Blvd, Sacramento, CA at 7:00 PM on the first Wednesday of each month. Anyone with an interest in the Pontiac Firebird, Trans Am, Formula or Firehawk is welcome to attend.

2:00 PM 'till the Chili is all gone!
There will be awards for "Hottest", "Best Red", "Best Green", "Wimpiest", "Peoples Choice" and "Participant". The Club will furnish the bowls, spoons, soft drinks, crackers, cheese, Tortillas, Chips, Salsa, Salad and Pizza for the kids. Bring your pot, a serving utensil and an extension cord.
