General Meeting - February 6, 2008

The General Membership meeting for the Trans Am Club of America, Golden State Chapter, was held on February 6, 2008 and called to order at 7:18 PM. President Keith Thorson presiding.

The January Secretary’s Minutes were approved as published in the Trans Script, however, a typo was mentioned concerning the “Joined Date” for Randy and Shelly Duval as shown on page 4, Members Ride of the Month. Randy called in and informed the Trans Script Editor that the correct date should be February, 2007.

Also, in Upcoming Events, Super Bowl XLII, the TV is a 57”.

The Treasurer’s Report was given by J.O. Raff and approved as read.

Old Business: Past Events;

Activities Chairperson, Terry Trimble reported on the Super Bowl Party held on Sunday, Feb. 3rd when the Club gathered at the Raff’s. It was a good party, plenty of pizza, salad, chips & dips, etc. Great conversation, commercials on the big screen TV and a good game as well. Keith won the football pool for three (3) of the quarters and the Club won one (1).

New Business: Upcoming Events;

Terry reminded everyone of the Valentines Day lunch at Thunder Valley. There will be no reservations so everyone will pay upon entry to the Feast Buffet. (See Upcoming Events).

The Chili Cook-off on March 16th has become a St. Patrick’s Day Pot Luck. J.O. and Irene will provide the Corned Beef and Cabbage and everyone bring a salad, side dish or dessert. (See Upcoming Events).

A Bowling day will occur March 30th and Irene is to coordinate with Crestview Lanes.

On July 23rd, there will be a Pontiac Night at Sacramento Raceway Wednesday Night Drags.

Keith will collect $5.00 per person contribution for Towe Museum dues to be paid in June.

Autorama will be held this weekend of Feb. 8-9-10.

It was discussed and decided that the Club will invest in a pen order to promote membership. The National Pen Company has a special offer for 250 Dyna Grip pens @ 27 cents each plus set-up fee and S&H. The order should cost the Club about $110.00. The pens will have TACA logo, 4 lines of print and an assortment of red, blue, green and black highlights.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:24 PM after which a 50/50 raffle was held, netting $9.00 for the Club and $8.00 for J.O.

Club Meetings will be held at Denny's Restaurant, 3520 Auburn Blvd, Sacramento, CA at 7:00 PM on the first Wednesday of each month. Anyone with an interest in the Pontiac Firebird, Trans Am, Formula or Firehawk is welcome to attend.

Sunday, February 3rd, Super Bowl Party, The Raff’s, 7125 Spicer Drive, Citrus Heights, CA. Kick Off at 3:30 PM PST. Show up around 1:00 PM for pre-game activities. Club will provide Pizza and soft drinks. We will watch the game and crowd around the Big 57” HD Screen.

VALENTINES DAY LUNCH - 2/17/08
Sunday, February 17th, Thunder Valley Casino, Lincoln, CA. 1:00 PM ‘til ??? depending on how long your money holds out. Meet at the Thunder Valley Feast Buffet as there will be NO caravan. Dutch Treat. Expect cost to be about $20.00 per person.
