January 2005, Volume 8, Issue 1

General Meeting - January 4, 2005

The meeting was called to order at 7:05pm by President Keith Thorson. First on the agenda was last months minutes. Minutes were approved as printed in the Trans Script.

Old Business:
Regarding the Christmas Party and meeting. See J.O.'s report.

Towe Musuem - 9/11/04:
Ted supplied Keith with a seven foot Christmas tree. Keith and a friend of his with a couple of their kids went down and decorated it. The Mustang Club sponsored the event this year and they had a huge buffet with a nice variety of foods. Keith took the tree down and the Towe Museum will store it for us until next year at no cost.

New Business:

Super Bowl Party - 2/6/05:
Game time is 3 P.M. It will be at the Straw Hat Pizza on Mills Station Road in Rancho Cordova, just immediately south of Folsom Blvd. It is just across the street from the Light Rail Station.

Valentine's Day Brunch - 2/13/05:
Options were Jackson Rancheria, Thunder Valley, or Cache Creek. It was decided that Cache Creek would be the choice. It is located North of Woodland and will be a very nice drive. Meet at Levitz at 8:30 A.M., depart, 9:00 A.M. Leo will be checking with Cache Creek and keeping Thunder Valley as an alternate in case Cache Creek doesn't work out.

Movie and Bowling - 3/6/05:
TBA.

Chili Cook Off - 3 /20/05:
2 P.M. at the Raff's.

There were a few other good ideas for Leo to look into for the rest of the year.

Today was Dennis's 60th birthday and Terry brought a very nice cake for us all to devour. She and J.O. also led us in a sing-a-long "Happy Birthday" tune to Dennis.

J.O. announced that dues are now due and payable.

Respectfully submitted - Irene Raff - Secretary.

Annual Business Meeting, Christmas Party and Installation of Officers.

On Saturday, December 11, 2004 the Annual Business Meeting, Christmas Party and Installation of Officers was held at the Cattlebaron's Café in Penryn, California. A quorum being present, Keith Thorson was installed as President, Terry Trimble as Vice President, Irene Raff as Secretary, J.O. Raff as Treasurer and Leo Brown as Activities Chairman. Terry Trimble was awarded the President's Trophy for being most valuable member of 2004.

Following the business and the food, we had the traditional gift exchange (eligible to be stolen three times) and I believe only Leo Brown, who eventually ended up with the bottle of Crown Royal, got what he wanted.

Even though there was some confusion concerning our reserved space, the venue was VERY, VERY noisy and even though there was some criticism about the food, we couldn't have had a better price and our Club, resilient and adaptable as we are, had a good time.

See "Ya" Next Year !!!
J.O.
