January 2007, Volume 10, Issue 1

General Meeting - January 3, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 7:15 PM by Treasurer J.O. Raff due to a misunderstanding about the starting time. The President and Vice President were planning on a 7:30 PM starting time.

The November 2006 Secretary’s Minutes were approved as published in the Trans Script. There were no Minutes for December and the Treasurer’s Report was approved as read. J.O. announced that “Transarama Fund” will be discontinued as a separate item for 2007 Treasurer’s Reports.

Old Business: Past Events;

Our Club Christmas Tree was decorated at the Towe Museum November 26th and there was a good turn out. Our Annual Meeting and Christmas Brunch at the Cliff House of Folsom was well attended by 19 adult Club Members and 4 children. A good time was had by all and almost everyone had their gifts stolen at least once. Autorama will not be attended as a Club this year but Bob Olsen will be entering his 2002 Collectors Edition Trans Am on an individual basis.

At this point, Pres. Keith Thorson and VP Ted Bechtel arrived and assumed leadership of the meeting.

New Business: Upcoming Events;

Newly elected Activities Director John Bonner announced the first event of the year would be the Superbowl Party. It will be held at Steve’s Pizza on February 4th.

Valentines Brunch will be held at Thunder Valley Casino on February 18th. See Upcoming Activities for additional information.

Terry Trimble reported that the All Pontiac Car Show that was being planned by the GTO Club appears to be a dead horse with no info available.

Our February General Membership meeting will be at 7:00 PM on the first Wednesday.

J.O. and Irene will contact the Towe Museum concerning the dismantling of the Christmas Tree and take it down as required.

Our Chili Cookoff will be at J.O. and Irene Raff’s in March. An exact date will be announced at our February meeting.

There was a short, informal discussion concerning Club Jackets. J.O. wants to refund deposit money to those that have already ordered jackets but the Club may purchase large and X-large jackets to provide a minimum order. The subject was tabled until the next meeting.

The Carmichael Library was suggested as a more centralized meeting location but no one was assigned to check it out.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 PM.

Respectfully Submitted; Irene Raff, Secretary.
