General Meeting - January 9, 2008

The first meeting for the Trans Am Club of America, Golden State Chapter, was held on January 9, 2008 and called to order at 7:00 PM. President Keith Thorson presiding.

Treasurer J. O. Raff presented the Treasurer’s Reports for the months of November and December and both were approved as read.

The Secretary’s Minutes for December were approved as printed in the Trans Script.

Old Business: Past Events;

Terry Trimble, Activities Chairperson Elect for 2008 reported that Robert Holland, Fay Fong and Keith Thorson attended the Toys 4 Tots event sponsored by the Ford Truck Club after some difficulty in finding the event at the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield. Toys accumulated were for the benefit of needy children in Concord. CA.

The Annual Meeting and Christmas Party was reported in the December Trans Script.

The Towe Auto Museum Christmas Tree Decorating Party, held November 25th was a resounding success even though we never did find all the parts of our Christmas Tree. Many of the Club Members and Cars were shown in the Slide Show. No one went away hungry. As of January 9th, the Club Christmas Tree had not been taken down but Keith said he would take care of it.

New Business: Upcoming Events;

Terry reminded everyone of the Super Bowl party to be held at the Raff’s on February 3, The Valentine’s Day Lunch at Thunder Valley on February 17th and a proposed Chili Cook-off on March 16th.

A Bowling day on March 30th and Cool April Nights in Redding for ‘79 and older cars, April 16-21 were discussed. (See Upcoming Events).

Keith has reserved our 2008 Annual Meeting and Christmas Party for December 13, 2008, again at Hungry Hunter.

Terry requests everyone to call her with activity recommendations.

A tentative Pool Party in July was also discussed.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:53 PM after which a 50/50 raffle was held, netting $12.50 for the Club and $12.50 for J.O.

Club Meetings will be held at Denny's Restaurant, 3520 Auburn Blvd, Sacramento, CA at 7:00 PM on the first Wednesday of each month. Anyone with an interest in the Pontiac Firebird, Trans Am, Formula or Firehawk is welcome to attend.
