July 2007, Volume 10, Issue 7

General Meeting - July 5, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 7:02 PM by Keith Thorson, President.

The Minutes from the June meeting were approved as printed in the Trans Script.

J.O. gave the Treasurer’s Report and it was accepted as read.

Old Business: Past Events;

Mario Gomez presented a report on his Senior Project Car Show that was attended by the Club on May 6, 2007 and held at Bella Vista High School. He expressed his gratitude for the Club’s participation and presented Appreciation Of Participation Awards to the Club and Officers.

TACA GSC was the only club present but the show was also attended and supported by parents, grandparents, friends, his girl friend Danielle and Magnessen’s Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep of Auburn. His Mom, Dad and Brothers helped out with delicious cookies. Insurance was not provided by the Booster Club as promised and at the last minute, it was necessary to purchase coverage from family provider. Mario’s Teacher-Adviser, Mr. Johnson, helped at the Show in every way possible.

Mario graduated with a 3.0 GPA and the next step is perhaps Sierra College. He has football try-outs at American River College on July 9th and is hoping to go Pro in the future.

$480.00 was donated to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.

The BBQ/Picnic to be held on July 7th was postponed and rescheduled as an “Afternoon at Woody’s”. See Upcoming Events.

New Business: Upcoming Events;

A proposal to hold our Christmas Party at Celests Mexican Restaurant was Pooh-Poohed off the table. Ted Bechtel is to check with Golden T.

There was an Elks Lodge Car Show Update and although it is short notice, a proposal for a possible visit to Sunsplash on July 28. Scandia was also mentioned. A bowling date was suggested for August 18th or 25th and Irene will be requested to check on availability and discounts at Crestview.

Thunder Valley was recommended for September 15th.

Wednesday Nite Drags was also recommended for the 1st. week in November and Ted Bechtel will check it out.

A Spaghetti Sauce Cook-off was recommended for Sunday, November 11th. It will be held at J.O & Irene’s at 2:00 PM.

All recommendations need to be passed by John Bonner, Activities Director.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:03 PM although those present hung out and chewed the fat for another half hour while the Denny’s Manager gave us impatient glances.

Respectfully Submitted J.O. Raff for Irene Raff; Irene Raff, Secretary.
