March 2006, Volume 9, Issue 3

General Meeting - March 7, 2006
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM by President Keith Thorson.

Ted Bechtel moved to accept the minutes of the last meeting as printed in the news letter. Motion was seconded by J.J. Apilado and passed by unanimous vote.

We had several guests. Joe Hadley is looking for a 1967, '68 or '69 convertible for a project. Seems Ted Klein has one and there was a little discussion as to whether or not he would like to sell it. Probably "no sale". Steve and Carol Deweerdt have a 1997 Trans Am. Dean Landenberger and his wife (we didn't get her name on the sign-in sheet) have a 1969 Firebird. Welcome to all of you! We hope to see you again next meeting!

The Treasurer's Report was presented by J.O. Raff and may be found in the column to the left. Total expense for Autorama to date: $144.16.

Dennis Trimble reported on our participation in the 56th Sacramento Autorama, Feb. 10-12. We were allowed only 5 cars and the Club was represented by Ted & Miren Klein's 1999 30th Anniversary Trans Am, Terry Trimble's 2002 Trans Am Convertible, Dennis Trimble's 1968 Firebird, J.O. & Irene Raff's 1979 Trans Am and John Bonner & Rachel Gershanoff's 1977 Trans Am. J.O. picked up beautiful Class Participation Plaques for everyone at the Awards Presentation. Boy! Did he get stares from the other participants when he made 5 trips to the stage!

Ted Bechtel gave a repot on the Valentine Days Brunch. We caravanned from Levitz out to Thunder Valley Casino for a very delightful buffet. We arrived at Thunder Valley about 11AM and Ted had made reservations in advance so everything was set up so all we had to do was "Pay the Lady", wait to be seated and help ourselves to all that scrumptious food! There were eight beautiful cars participating on this run with one guest named Keith but no one could remember his last name. He had a 1976 Carousel Red Trans Am. It did look a bit orange with white interior but whatever the color, it was pretty. We sat around a while after lunch and some just couldn't stay away from the gaming floor. The big winner in that department was Mary Brown (No $$ amount was mentioned). We broke up around 3PM.

Next on the agenda was Club Jackets. The tan color of the jackets doesn't seem to be going over very well. The majority felt that our logo colors look much richer on black. Irene was asked to check with Special T's, see about pricing and availability and see if we can borrow a couple of catalogs to review.

We are still having discussions on meeting places. It is difficult to find a place to eat with an area that is closed off. Everyone is requested to keep looking and bring any ideas to the next Club meeting. Remember where everyone lives and try to come up with a central location.

Jerry's Paints, where Ted Klein works, is an ideal, central meeting place. Ted say's he doesn't think there is a problem with that but he really should check with the boss.

Ted gave us some info on the events shown in the Upcoming Events column .

Respectfully Submitted; Irene Raff, Secretary.
