March
2008, Volume 11, Issue 3
General
Meeting - March 5, 2008
The March 5th 2008 monthly meeting was called to order
by President Keith Thorson at 7:02pm. As the Raffs were
visiting China, Theo Bechtel was asked to fill in as
Secretary.
The first order of business was to review minutes from
the previous month. There were no corrections to the
Minutes and Robert Holland moved to accept the minutes
as printed. Frank Brown seconded and the minutes were
approved.
The next order of business was the Treasurer's Report
which can be found in another area of the Newsletter.
In the absence of Treasurer J.O. Raff, Theo read the
Treasurer's report.
Old
Business: Past Events;
The only event in February had been the Valentines brunch
at Thunder Valley Casino. We had 9 Club members attend
the event and everyone enjoyed the buffet. Unfortunately
we had no big winners from gambling.
Under other Old Business we briefed Frank Brown on the
Club pens the Club has decided to purchase to give away
as Club advertising. (As of March 15th, the pens have
been received).
New
Business: Upcoming Events;
First up was the St. Patrick's Pot Luck at the Raff's
on Sunday, March 16th at 1:30 PM. The Raffs have agreed
to prepare the corned beef and cabbage, potatoes and
carrots (on the Club, of course). Everyone is requested
to bring a side dish and/or dessert.
On Sunday, March 30th, the Club will have a bowling
day and will most likely go to pizza afterwards. The
meeting time will be a few minutes before 3:00 PM and
the location will be announced but will most likely
be Crestview Lanes. (Check Upcoming Events).
Tentatively on April 27th there will be a Chili Cook
Off.
Also in April, but Activities Director Terry Trimble
was not sure of the date, is the Madera Car Show. More
information will follow on these events.
For the month of May: May 17th. Elk Grove High School
will hold the Annual Car Show that benefits their auto
shop. Terry will have more information on this event
at a later date.
May 24th and 25th will be the annual Thunder in Depot
Park in Rio Linda.
The All Pontiacs Show hosted by the Central California
Chapter of the Pontiac Oakland Club was discussed. This
event will be September 25th -28th at Bass Lake.
Terry also discussed the possibility of another gold
panning trip this year and will contact Gary Vollstedt
to see about getting more information.
With no further business Frank Brown motioned to adjourn
the meeting and Dennis Trimble seconded. The meeting
was adjourned at 7:50 pm.
Respectfully Submitted: Ted Bechtel, Vice President.
