March
2006, Volume 9, Issue 5
General
Meeting - May 2, 2006
The meeting was called to order at 7:10 PM by President
Keith Thorson.
We were very pleased to have several guests. William
Clausen and Family, Joe Madley (Spelling), Robert O'Brien,
Anthony Dixon, Jane McCurry and Rick Torres were all
present.
The Treasurer's Report was provided by J.O. Raff and
was approved as read.
Old
Business: Past Events;
Ted Bechtel reported that the April 23rd. Chili Cook-off
held at the Raff's went off well. Winners of the various
categories were: Best Red and Peoples Choice, Mary Brown;
Hottest, Aaron Bechtel; Best Green, Terry Trimble and
Wimpiest, J.O. Raff. Terry's victory ended a ten year
winning streak for J.O.'.s "Pueblo Green". J.O. insinuated
that the judging was "Fixed" as he does for ALL sporting
events and that the proper ingredients for "Pueblo Green",
(the rattlesnake meat and scorpion venom), are no longer
available in California. Winners were presented Blue
Ribbons and $10.00 gift certificates to Chili's. All
other participants received, what else (?), 'Participant
Ribbons'!
New
Business: Upcoming Events;
Ted also provided information on upcoming events. Jimboy's
"Cruise Nights" begin Saturday, May 13th and there will
be an Elk Grove High School Car Show on Saturday, May
20th. (See "Upcoming Events"). The IHOP Car Shows in
Yuba City will begin again soon as well and more information
will follow. The Capitol City Thunderbolts will host
their 5th Annual "Thunder in Depot Park" Car Show in
Rio Linda on Saturday, May 27th, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
The Registration Fee is $20.00. It was noted that this
is also Memorial Day Weekend.
Our guests, Jane McCurry and Rick Torres represented
the GTO Club and addressed the meeting concerning an
all Pontiac Car Show that they would like to have our
Club's assistance in holding in 2007. The Sacramento
Pontiac Club would also be involved. Pres. Keith Thorson
referred discussion of TACA's participation to a Committee
Meeting to be at J.O. & Irene's on Wednesday, May 10th
at 7:00 PM.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 PM.
Respectfully Submitted; Irene Raff, Secretary.
