General Meeting - November 7, 2007

The meeting was called to order by Sgt. At Arms Dennis Trimble at 7:18 PM.

Vice-President Ted Bechtel officiated in the absence of President Keith Thorson.

The Trans Script for September was approved as printed. It was noted however, that November 27th is NOT a Sunday as indicated in Upcoming Events for the Towe Auto Museum Christmas Tree Decorating and the correct date is November 25th.

The Treasurer’s Report was approved as read.

Old Business: Past Events;

It was reported that the Thunder Valley Lunch on Sept. 9th was attended by 7 members and the good buffet was enjoyed by all. There was some confusion about caravanning times and locations but everyone finally arrived.

The Guide Dogs of America Car Show on September 15th was attended by Dennis and Terry Trimble, Keith Thorson and Robert Holland.

Beverly’s Nifty 50’s Car Show on Sept. 29th was attended by Keith Thorson, Robert Holland, Dennis and Terry Trimble. All were Raffle Prize winners.

The Annual Meeting and Christmas Party was tabled again so Ted Bechtel can contact Hungry Hunter. (See Upcoming Events.)

New Business:

Apple Hill will be Sunday Oct. 14th.

Our November General Club meeting will be held at Sacramento Raceway Park (See Upcoming Events and Notice, left column). It is possible that the Raceway will not be open if it rains.

The Towe Auto Museum Christmas Tree Decorating will be on November 25th and the Spaghetti Sauce Cook off will be at the Raff’s on November 11th (See Upcoming Events).

Officer nominations for 2008 were: Keith Thorson and Ted Bechtel for President; Ted Bechtel and Keith Thorson for Vice President, Irene Raff for Secretary, J.O. Raff for Treasurer and Terry Trimble for Activities Director. Write-In space is available on the ballots which will be sent out by the Secretary ASAP. (Already distributed by mail as of the printing of this Trans Script).

Moved by Ted Bechtel and Seconded by Dennis Trimble, meeting was adjourned at 7:53 PM.

Club Meetings will be held at Denny's Restaurant, 3520 Auburn Blvd, Sacramento, CA at 7:00 PM on the first Wednesday of each month. Anyone with an interest in the Pontiac Firebird, Trans Am, Formula or Firehawk is welcome to attend.

SPAGHETTI SAUCE COOK-OFF - 11/11/07
Sunday, November 11th, 1:00 PM. The Raffs @ 7125 Spicer Dr., Citrus Heights. Bring a pot of your favorite Spaghetti Sauce. Club will furnish Spaghetti, Salad, Soft Drinks & French Bread. Ribbons for 1st., 2nd. and 3rd. Place.

TOWE AUTO MUSEUM CHRISTMAS TREE DECORATION PARTY - 11/27/07
Sunday, November 25th, Towe Auto Museum, 2200 Front Street, Sacramento, CA. Tree Decorating starts at 2:00 PM, Pot Luck Dinner at 5:00 PM. No admission charge but bring a Pot Luck Dish. A-J, Main Course Dish (Casserole, etc.); K-R, Side Dishes (Veggies or Salads); S-Z, Deserts. The Tree Decorating Party is sponsored by Sacramento Mustang Club and they will supply soft drinks, coffee, water, plates, etc. They would like pictures of Club activities and cars on a disc for a slide show. Bring articles that you want to get rid of for a White Elephant Raffle. Club expected to bring a $30-$50 Raffle prize.

ANNUAL MEETING & CHRISTMAS PARTY - 12/8/07
Saturday, December 8th., HUNGRY HUNTER, 450 Bercut Drive, Sacramento, CA is primary choice and has been reserved for 7:30 PM. Banquet menu will consist of a choice of Petit Cut (8 oz.) Prime Rib, NY Steak or Mushroom Chicken Breast. Meats are cooked Medium. Prices range from $21.00 to $30.00 including, Ice Tea, Coffee, Soda, tax and gratuity. No dessert. Plan on paying Treasurer at the Hungry Hunter by check. Firm commitments have been received from 21 members. ABSOLUTE DEAD LINE to sign up or back out will be December 5th. TOYS 4 TOTS DRIVE - 12/9/07
Sunday, December 9th, Jelly Belly Factory, Fairfield, CA, 10:00 AM—3:00 PM. Drive to benefit kids who need help during Christmas/Holiday time. Bring a new toy with you! Toys will be delivered to the Pittsburg Fire Department, then to the Marine Corps Toys 4 Tots drive in Concord, CA. We will caravan. Meet at K-Mart on Sunrise Blvd. at 8:15 AM, Depart at 8:45 AM.
