Veteran's Day Parade, See Upcoming Events - 11/13/04

Movie Day - 11/14/04

Keith reported that AUTORAMA is coming up and we need to start thinking of the event. One of the things that he has in mind are tri-pods with poster boards and pictures of our past events.

Dave Gershon reported that AB2683 had been signed by the Governor on September 26th. The ACCC says that next year the Legislature will attempt to repeal the 30 year rule - back to 1965 and will start SMOG testing for Motorcycles and Diesels.

There was a general discussion concerning the Club's insurance. It was recommended that Diane Horning of POCI be contacted to ascertain whether or not a specialty membership in POCI would help resolve our insurance problem. A financial analysis over the last 3 years was recommended to determine how Club expenses such as the Trans Script relate to our current level of dues. POCI membership dues are $25.00 per annum and we need to know if the Club can afford to pay dues for the entire membership or if we will need to readjust our dues.

J.O. Raff recommended an amendment to our By-Laws concerning distribution of the Club's assets in the event the Club is disbanded. An addendum to our Election of 2005 Officers Ballot will be mailed to the membership for a vote.

Keith opened the floor for nominations for 2005 Officers. Nominations were as follows: Keith Thorson and Ted Bechtel for President; Ted Bechtel, Terry Trimble and Dennis Trimble for Vice President; Irene Raff for Secretary; J.O. Raff for Treasurer and Leo Brown for Activities Chairman. Dennis Trimble moved that nominations cease and the motion was seconded by Frank Brown. Ballots will be prepared by the Secretary and mailed to Club members for their completion and return to the Club P.O. Box prior to the November 2nd meeting. In accordance with our By-Laws, no ballots will be accepted at the meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:06 PM. l. Thanks to Theo too.

Respectfully submitted - Irene Raff - Secretary.

DECEMBER BUSINESS MEETING, INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS AND CHRISTMAS PARTY.

We hope that you have already planned to attend our Annual Business Meeting, Installation of Officers and Christmas Party! This year the Cattlebaron's Café at 3129 Penryn Road, Penryn, California, has been reserved for our event on Saturday, December 11th. No-host cocktails are planned from 6:30 to 7:00 PM, Dinner at 7:00 PM and then our installation activities afterward. Tentatively, our Banquet will consist of Prime Rib or Halibut at $15.35, while Steak or Chicken will be $13.50. Banquet dinners include cheese fondue, French bread, tossed salad, baked potato, veggies, coffee, ice tea or soda and dessert. Prices include tax and tip.

Plan on bringing an inexpensive, (approximately $10.00), wrapped gift for our traditional, (you can steal it twice-maybe three times), gift exchange.

It has been decided that the Club will supplement the cost of the dinner as it has in the past, however, because of the relatively inexpensive cost, each Paid Club Member will be allowed $5.00. Since the Club must pay for the number of dinners ordered, NO SHOWS that make reservations will be expected to pay.

It will be necessary to confirm our numbers and dinner choices with Cattlebarron's by the first week in December. Please call J.O. or Irene Raff at (916) 961-5800 with your menu selection by December 1st. and mail your checks to the Club P.O. Box.
