Meeting - October 4, 2005
The October General Meeting
of the Trans Am Club of America, Golden State Chapter
was called to order at 7:15 PM by President Keith Thorson.
Having no visitors to introduce, Keith asked for a motion
to approve the Secretary's September Minutes as printed
in the Trans Script. The motion was made by Frank Brown
and seconded by Ted Klein.
The Treasurer's Report was presented by Treas. J.O.
Raff and the report was approved as read. A $65.00 check
to the Towe Museum is still outstanding .
Old
Business:
Keith explained that the outstanding check of $65.00
to the Towe Museum had been negotiated.
Under Activities, there was a good overall turn out
at the Jim Boy's Car Show on Saturday, Sept. 10th. to
enjoy the band and nice cars. Our Club was represented
by John Bonner & Rachel Gershanoff and Dennis & Terry
Trimble.
Ted Klein reported on the POCI Regionals held Sept.
30th thru Oct. 2nd. Our Members cleaned up in their
own classes with Bob Oleson taking a 1st place Stock
trophy; Dennis Trimble taking a 3rd place Modified trophy;
Ted Klein, a 3rd place Stock trophy; Dave Gershon, a
3rd place Stock trophy and Gayle & Gary Vollstedt, a
2nd place Mod. trophy. Terry Trimble took a 3rd place
Mod trophy with her GTO. George Iverson was also present.
Terry reported that the banquet had much to be desired.
POCI Nationals will be in June or July '06.
TACA was represented at the Beverly's Toys for Tots
Show by Irene Raff and Keith Thorson. Keith won a prize
and gave it to Irene who also won two discount coupons
for Beverly's.
New
Business:
New Events will be as shown in "2005 Upcoming Events."
Only 5 cars will be allowed to represent the Club at
Autorama. The entries were picked by drawing at a Board
Meeting held on Sept. 20th. and will be cars owned by
Dennis & Terry Trimble, Jim Prinzivalli, J.O. & Irene
Raff and John Bonner & Rachel Gershanoff. Ted Klein
is alternate. The Show Theme is "Beach Party."
There will be a Halloween Party at Frank Brown's home,
Oct. 29th. between 5:30 and 10:00 PM. All members are
welcome. (See Upcoming Events)
Officer Nominees for 2006 will be: Leo Brown and Ted
Bechtel - Activities Director, J.O. Raff -Treasurer,
Irene Raff - Secretary, Terry Trimble - Vice President
and Keith Thorson - President. Ballots will be mailed
to all members with return envelopes in accordance with
the Club By-Laws. A motion to close nominations was
made by Dennis Trimble and seconded by Ted Klein.
Welcome new members, Debbie and Phil Lamaison. They
live in Cotati and own a Brown, 1979 Trans Am .
The meeting was adjourned at 8:14 PM.
