October 2008, Volume 11, Issue 10

General Meeting - October 1, 2008

The October 1st, 2008 General Membership Meeting of the Trans Am Club of America, Golden State Chapter, was called to order by Pres. Keith Thorson at 7:06 PM.
The Minutes from the September 3rd General Membership Meeting were approved as printed in the September edition of the TransScript. The Treasurer’s Report was approved as given by Treas. J.O. Raff.

Old Business: Past Events;

It was reported that Mary Brown’s Birthday Party was fun and the food was great. Terry and Dennis Trimble were the only T/A Club members present.

Terry and Dennis also attended the Pontiacs at The Pines II, Western Regionals on September 25th. They reported that Ted Klein and Bob Oleson were there as well.

Twenty-seven cars attended the California Burger Show and Shine. The 50/50 raffle was won by Terry Trimble but it was probably a fix since Dennis drew the ticket. The Peoples Choice Trophy was won by a White, ‘91 Chevy Camaro belonging to Kerry Aye. We were very pleased and excited to see Dave, Paula and Paul Gershon. They brought the 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am. Gary & Trevor Vollstedt were there with a ‘73 Formula that Gary is working on. The paint job is gorgeous and Gary is doing it himself!

Robert Holland and Keith Thorson attended Beverly’s Nifty 50’s Classic Car Display on Sept. 27th.

New Business: Upcoming Events;

The Club will display 4 or 5 cars at the Towe Museum the whole month of October. Set up will be Saturday, Oct. 4th. at about 10:00 AM. The Apple Hill run will be November 2nd.

Pres. Thorson opened Nominations for 2009 Club Officers. J.O. Raff moved that current top 5 Officers be unanimously nominated for 2009 reelection. The motion was seconded by Frank Brown and the motion was carried. Ballots will be sent out to the Membership by the Secretary.

The Annual Meeting and Christmas Party will be held on Saturday, December 13th at the Rusty Duck in Sacramento. See Upcoming Events for further information.

J.O. was directed to pay the Web Site bill and to send ACCC $75.00 minimum dues.

Frank Brown moved to adjourn at 8:15 PM, 2nd by Ted B

Respectfully Submitted: J.O. Raff, Treasurer in the absence of Secretary Irene Raff.
