General Meeting - September 5, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 6:58 PM by President Keith Thorson.

The Secretary’s Minutes for the August 1st meeting were approved as printed in the Trans Script and the Treasurer’s Report was approved as given.

Old Business: Past Events;

Reservations for our Thunder Valley Lunch, scheduled for Sunday, September 9th, will be arranged by Keith Thorson.Club.

Bowling on Saturday, August 18th was well attended. Keith took high game with two 160s and high three game average. Irene was a close 2nd. For low score competition, J.O. had the lowest single game score with a 78 but Ted Bechtel took the low three game average with a 257. We had fun anyway and Crestview Lanes gave each of us one free game.

The December Annual Meeting and Christmas Party was discussed and there was some disagreement concerning the menu selections at BUCA DE BEPPO. A tentative reservation has been made at Denny’s and an unanswered call was made to The Rusty Duck but additional efforts will be made to find another more agreeable location and menu.

New Business:

AUTORAMA will be coming up soon so if anyone is interested in showing their car AND PARTICIPATING in the set-up/Decorating, please contact Keith.

Nomination for 2008 Officers will be the principal business during the October Club Meeting on Wednesday, October 3rd.

Ted Bechtel recommended that for our Club Meeting on November 7th, we meet at the Sacramento Raceway. We will be able to count ballots as well as watch or race. The Raceway opens at 5:00 PM for Time Trials in which racers get three passes. The quota is filled quickly. Observers can be there at 6:00 PM. There is an $8.00 entry fee or $15.00 to enter and race. Decision will be made during the October meeting.

Beverly’s Car Show was discussed and participation encouraged. (See Upcoming Events).

The fastest Meeting in history, Moved by Ted Bechtel and Seconded by Dennis Trimble, was adjourned at 7:15 PM.

Club Meetings will be held at Denny's Restaurant, 3520 Auburn Blvd, Sacramento, CA at 7:00 PM on the first Wednesday of each month. Anyone with an interest in the Pontiac Firebird, Trans Am, Formula or Firehawk is welcome to attend.

BEVERLY’S NIFTY 50’S CLASSIC CAR DISPLAY - 9/29/07
Saturday, September 29th, Beverly’s, 6456 Fair Oaks Blvd., Carmichael, 9:00 AM—3:00 PM. Entry Fee is a NEW UNWRAPPED TOY. If you want to enter, call JAN at (916) 486-8374. This event supports Bev’s Angel Project which provides goodies to Schools, Hospitals, WEAVE, Sheriff and Fire Stations, Mustard Seed, Alta Regional, Women & Children’s Shelters and Mom’s and Babies Rehab Center.
