General Meeting - September 3, 2008

The September 3rd, 2008 General Membership Meeting of the Trans Am Club of America, Golden State Chapter, was called to order by Vice Pres. Ted Bechtel due to the absence of Pres. Keith Thorson at 7:00 PM. Frank Brown had already moved to adjourn at 6:58 PM but there was no second.

The Secretary’s August Minutes were approved as printed in the August Trans Script and the Treasurer’s Report was approved as read by Treas. J.O. Raff.

Old Business: Past Events;

It was announced that six vehicles had been placed on display at the California State Fair on Saturday, August 16. The River Cats Game was not attended.

New Business: Upcoming Events;

Michelle Brown's Birthday Party on Sept. 13th was announced.

Invitations have been extended to the Capitol City Firebirds and Camaro Club for the Sept. 20 Show and Shine at California Burger. There has been no luck on contacting Julie Bergman or administrators of the Capitol City Firebirds. J.O. is to bring tickets for the 50/50 drawing, banner, table, canopy and chairs. Dennis and Terry, Frank and Robert plan to bring raffle prizes. J.O. will obtain a trophy for Peoples Choice award.

October 4, Sacramento F Bodies is having a Fall Cruise Against Lymphoma and Leukemia to Lake Tahoe. It starts at 9:00 AM in Roseville near the Sun Splash Water Park.

For $20.00 per person we can go to a movie on October 11th at the Sacramento West Wind Drive in on Bradshaw. Popcorn and Soda is included. 1972 and older vehicles are featured but Club participation is encouraged.

Nominations for 2009 Club Officers will be entertained at the October 1, 2008 General Membership Meeting.

A trip to Apple Hill is scheduled for Sunday, November 2nd. Meet at the Kmart Parking Lot on Sunrise Blvd. in Rancho Cordova at 8:30 AM and depart at 9:00 AM.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:48 PM after Frank Brown moved to adjourn and Dennis Trimble seconded

Club Meetings will be held at Denny's Restaurant, 3520 Auburn Blvd, Sacramento, CA at 7:00 PM on the first Wednesday of each month. Anyone with an interest in the Pontiac Firebird, Trans Am, Formula or Firehawk is welcome to attend.

ANNUAL MEETING AND CHRISTMAS PARTY - 12/13/08
Saturday, December 13th, Rusty Duck, Sacramento. 500 Bercut Drive, Sacramento. Time: Tentatively 7:00-9:00 PM. For a group of 10-20 persons, we will need to choose up to 4 entrees from: Alaskan King Crab Legs, Australian Lobster Tail, Filet Mignon, New York Steak, Prime Rib, Fresh Fish, Grilled Duck, Orange Basil Salmon, Tomato Basil Chicken, Santa Fe Pasta with Chicken or Vegetarian Pasta. Over 20 persons, we choose 3 entrees. All entrees include non-alcoholic beverages, fresh garden salads with ranch dressing and choice of mini-mud [pie or rainbow sherbet.
