General Meeting - September 11, 2011

The September 11th, 2011 General Membership Meeting of the Trans Am Club of America, Golden State Chapter was called to order by Pres. Keith Thorson at 7:19 PM. Additional Members attending were Ted Bechtel, J.O. & Irene Raff, Terry & Dennis Trimble, Frank & Michelle Brown, (Laneeka Hill with Frank & Michelle) and Robert & Fay Holland.

The August TransScript was approved as printed, however, J.O. noticed that the dates shown in the “In This Issue” section for the Treasurer’s Report and Minutes were incorrect. They have been revised on the file copy.

The Treasurer’s Report was approved as presented.

Old Business: Past Events;

Robert Holland reported that only he and Fay plus his Mother in Law and one of her friends, attended the 12th Annual North Texas Street Car Show & Tomato Festival, Sunday, Aug. 21st. Ted explained that he wasn’t able to go because his Land Lady wanted to inspect his apartment that weekend. He also reported that his chair leg broke and he fell thru the patio glass window, perhaps saved by his paper shredder which broke the glass before him. Miraculously he was not hurt and the glass was repaired before the Land Lady inspected.

Once again, only Robert and Fay attended the First Annual Norcal Invasion on Saturday, August 27 & 28. Robert reported that the event was disorganized and small but he had a good time. There was a good representation of Firebirds.

Dennis and Terry attended Hot August Nights August 9 thru 14. They report that it was crowded and they saw many GTOs and several Trans AMs as well.

New Business: Upcoming Events;

Beverly’s Nifty 50s Car Show, Dive Check Run to Taylor’s, Apple Hill, Muscle Cars in the Park and the Calaveras Big Trees trip were discussed. ( See Upcoming Events).

Frank Brown moved that the meeting be adjourned at 8:04 PM, seconded by Dennis Trimble at 8:28 PM.

Saturday, Sept. 24th, 2011, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Meet at Beverly’s, 6456 Fair Oaks Blvd., Carmichael. Admission is an unwrapped toy to benefit Beverly’s Angel Project.

3RD ANNUAL MUSCLE CARS IN THE PARK - 9/25/2011
